comment I'm trying to Add a new Buddypress menu tab and it is not showing up
@Xtremefaith The language here is confusing. The code above explains (a) how to add a subnav to a user's Groups nav, and (b) how to add a nav to a specific group. It so happens that BP implements group nav in the same way as a profile subnav. BP currently has no direct way in the API to create visual subnav items (they'd technically be sub-subnavs) in groups. See bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/groups/single/admin.php and bp_groups_admin_tabs() to see a workaround.

comment Using wp_filesystem in Plugins
Otto, I was wondering if you could expand on your point about uploads_dir. You suggest that the reason for not serving static assets out of there is related to security. Can you describe the details of an exploit that would result from putting, say, a CSS file in /wp-content/uploads/ that would have been prevented by putting it in a custom /wp-content/my-plugin-dir/? I'm having a hard time thinking of one.

comment Why is $wpdb->get_results failing on certain tables but not others (which have data)?
You can't use sprintf replacement for table names - $wpdb->prepare( "%s", 'foo' ) will put single quotes around 'foo', which is not valid MySQL syntax for referring to tables.
