I am a software developer, working primarily in C# / .NET. I have been doing this for about six years.
Prior to that I worked in various technology positions, with strong experience in system / network administration, and some experience in a variety of programming languages.
I am an avid user of technology tools, particularly fond of open source, freely available, or just anything that is high quality and a great value.

No option “I would like my site to be private, visible only to users I choose” in Privacy Settings I guess you are right - sorry for my confusion, I really thought I had seen it before in my self-hosted site. |

How to transfer changes from test environment to live site? I agree. In general you'd have to get your hands dirty finding differences between the databases. There is a lengthy discussion of some tools that people have found helpful in finding MySql database diffs here: Compare two MySQL databases |

Work-around for fatal memory error in BackupBuddy job to Dropbox on shared host? The vendor provided a refund of the purchase. I am no longer using this software. Thanks for the help in any event... |

Work-around for fatal memory error in BackupBuddy job to Dropbox on shared host? Thanks for your response... No, it's not possible to split the backup into multiple files, unfortunately. The software relies on a Dropbox API (PHP oAuth, I believe?) which requires the entire data stream to be sent in one chunk, from what I have been told. Of course, they could implement a layer which intelligently breaks the backup set into more manageable file sets and then re-assembles them somehow once they live in Dropbox, but that's just not how the software was designed. Incremental backups are also not an option. |
