whoami

I am rhand or Jasper, a web lover, polyglot, WordPress addict and HTML5 evangelist. I love to code in and learn more about jQuery, WordPress, Joomla! and I also dive into OSCommerce and Magento regularly.

Currently I am in sunny Thailand, but I am always on the move. I work for my own Hong Kong based company Imagewize and with my Dutch partner Doede at Doede.net. Here are some of the sites associated with me: jasperfrumau.com, Imagewize.com (current site for Imagewize)

comment Activate Child Theme .mo and .po files
having a similar issue. Would love to know if you solved this. Using qTranslate together with the localisation plugin and the Dutch nor German translations load in my child theme at the moment. I added nl_NL to wp-config.php as well and made the needed functions.php changes and created the .mos and .pos.

comment qtranslate is not working properly
It does work with Google's API and Bing's API so I would think you can use Google Translate to do this. See wordpress.org/plugins/codestyling-localization

comment WP Site in subdirectory Joomla! Site - Permalinks not working
Yeah, this question could have been asked at the Joomla! forum as well, but as the Joomla! site was doing OK and the WordPress site had issues I decided to ask here. Anyways, as shown in my answer I figured it out more or less by now. And it seems that the correct WP .htaccess was just as important.

Worked like a charm with the noconflict script. Next step is HTML integration of cart and so on. Thanks!

@Max Yudin Adding <script ="text/javascript"> jQuery.noConflict(); </script> to the header only causes another error saying that jQuery cannot be found as a variable.

They are loaded. Loading them in the footer now. But as soon as I added the HTML to load the link allowing to view the cart I have same earlier mentioned JScript error.

comment w3 Total Cache expire headers not set
Should there not be a "s" after the number? It also seems that Nginx already can create the Nginx.conf file for you, but I still get the F for Expire Header Browser Cache settings: pastebin.com/UeW9sGjX

I overwrote all wp-admin and wp-includes and now I got rid of these issues. Only the right column in the post-edit.php seems to have been kicked down now

comment Cannot Modify Header Info Error on updating User Profile
After the upgrade all was well. Must have been a faulty file as mentioned in the question. I could not answer my own question yesterday. Had to wait for several hours. Thanks for the input!

OK, got things sort of up and running. See updates. Just had to adjust CSS a bit #ticker-area, #text-5{ width:560px; height:315px; Only now the fading show the video and the tickertype with black background for a short while which is not that nice. So I need some more tinkering.

Thanks @kaiser I was actually looking for a plugin that already does this one way or another. I can do the basic jQuery stuff which I used for some effects, but to make randomly loaded ads rotate automatically using AJAX or regular JavaScript would be kind of tough. Do you know any plugings WordPress or jQuery that already do this. A textwidget with some HTML and JavaScript could do the trick also I guess..

Asked the UserPhoto developer if there had been a registration form implementation already here: wordpress.org/support/topic/… . Who knows..

Checking out wordpress.org/extend/plugins/user-photo now. Could be a good idea. Just need to adjust my registration form to store the image the same way so updating works later on. To load the image in the profileview might not be too hard as long as I can somehow grab the userid so the correct profile picture is loaded. As these factors all count I was hoping I could stick to the code I have so I only need to change functions.php, not the registration form and profile view as well. Not a complete PHP noob, but still loooots to learn

I have updated code -see pastebin.com/YGYz3Qnv - and made $profilePicture global. Thanks for the heads up! How can I add more validation to check if the variable is empty? isset() is already added.. And I still think I have a $_POST issue too..
