whoami

I am rhand or Jasper, a web lover, polyglot, WordPress addict and HTML5 evangelist. I love to code in and learn more about jQuery, WordPress, Bootstrap, CSS3 and HTML5.

pwd

Currently I am in Amwaj, Bahrain but I am always on the move. I work for my own Hong Kong based company Imagewize and with my Dutch partners Doede at Doede.net and Linda at L-indesign.nl Here are some of the sites associated with me: jasperfrumau.com, Imagewize.com (current site for Imagewize)

comment How to redirect url requests to https?
Does seem to work for me. Here is the snippet # BEGIN WordPress <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://%{HTTP_HOST}/$1 [R=301,L] RewriteBase / RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.php [L] </IfModule> Just added the https always rule inside the WP snippet after RewriteEngine On

comment Custom Post Type with Custom Taxonomy as Category
Thanks for the feedback! I think I found the solution. One issue I believe was the slug as you also mentioned. Other issue was that I needed to rewrite the ctp slug. The CPT naming does not seem the issue, but I will probably change this to. Adding solution I found asap.

Also checking wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/49141/… . post_type_link might be a solution.

I am checking out wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/39500/… as a possible solution. Seems more complicated than I thought though.

comment Cannot use object of type WP_Error as array
Yeah I see. Hmmm, well wp_insert_term hangs and WP_Error is returned causing a fatal error. Do understand more now, but yeah that does not deal with the actual issue. Does get things moving though so will mark this as solved and might open another question on cause of wp_insert_term not working.

Did ask WPML, but their support seems to be overwhelmed so I try to see what I can work out here.

comment Why is my database import losing text widget data?
Worked for me most of the time. But this week when I replaced http://localhost/Me/site_name by http://site.dev (from one local host to another) using v 3.0.0 I did lose my widget and menu positions oddly enough. So perhaps this issue is related to the string lenght as well.

It seems proper jQuery 1.11.0 is loaded when logged in and checking the frontend, jQuery migrate as well. But once logged off that is no longer the case. No jQuery Migrate loaded and jQuery 1.8.3 as attached version string although 1.11.0 is behind it. I know because I checked in Firebug under Net tab. Response shows 1.11.0.

Even with plugin replaced by old one the issue is returning. I do not see a jQuery loaded anywhere that has the string 1.8.3 added, but FF shows it again even though 1.11.0 is behind it. jQuery is enqueued and latest WP loads 1.11.0. Will keep on looking.

Seems to be my heavily customized NGG plugin got overwritten. This caused mayor havoc on the site. Seems to be doing better now, but server is really slow responding atm. DH is probably throttling RAM atm. Will check all again a little later.

Yeah, it should be 1.11.0 and that one is loaded in Safari, but not in Firefox. Well it says 1.8.3, but loads 1.11.0 it seems actually. And in FF superfish.js does not load either. Still trying to figure it out. In FF home is really broken now.

It seems superfish.js refuses to load in Firefox. It does load in Safari. This causes the dropdown issue. The tabs not showing well in FF is not clear yet.

@sabarnix Yeah, thanks. Realized that. So no need for that. So what is causing the breakdown of the menu and tabs as well as gallery is still the issue. Do think those are javascript related, but even with debugging scripts turned on no other errors or warnings show up.
