Currently using wordpress for two purposes:

  1. Hosting a fairly traditional blog, albeit one with a great many individual bloggers (193 at the last count)

  2. Building an aggregation site with no blog or comment functions, but some simple CMS requirements

Hmmm... I wonder if this depends on how you removed it from the page. Can you see what the value for post_parent is for that attachment in the database?

An example of your get_posts() call would be REALLY helpful here

comment How do I save metadata for a specific custom post type only?
@EAMann - yup, halfway through writing that, I realised a switch would be better, but comments aren't the ideal place to start editing code, so I got lazy ;)

comment How do I save metadata for a specific custom post type only?
Brilliant- works like a charm. And I'm assuming that it would make sense to do "if ($post->post_type == 'animal') { update_post_meta($ID, "number_of_legs", $_POST['number_of_legs']); } else if ($post->post_type == 'vehicle') { update_post_meta($ID, "number_of_wheels", $_POST['number_of_wheels']); } // ... etc ... to handle several different post types? (Apologies for the poor formatting capabilities of comments!)
