The clip was created per the instructions in the WordPress codex. I used extract, which Pieter didn't like, so it's updated.

comment Can wp_query return posts meta in a single request?
meta_key and/or meta_query do not modify the type of results returned, only the query itself.

comment Can wp_query return posts meta in a single request?
The standard WP_Query does not return a posts meta data. The only options you have are to: 1) run get_post_meta on individual keys, 2) run get_post_custom to get all of a posts custom fields in one shot, or 3) create your own query using the $wpdb class (get_results()) to build your own return object. ($wpdb class documentation: codex.wordpress.org/Class_Reference/wpdb)

comment using wp_footer hook in a plugin
@WaseemAbuSenjer - If you view the source of the page, is the HTML being added? It's possible the hook is echoing properly but is hidden due to styles. Also, try adding a priority higher than 5.

Make sure you have an .htaccess file in your new subdirectory, along with a whole new site of WordPress files.

Make sure you've copied over the .htaccess file in the root wp directory. There are specific rewrite rules that need to reside in there.

You can't access sub-blogs at all? Or just wp-admin?

comment Set the background to a default image if there isn't a specified “featured image”
Your certain $src = get_bloginfo( 'stylesheet_directory') . '/lib/images/home1-1024x681.jpg'; returns an image? That the home1-1024x681.jpg image actually exists in your wp-content/themes/your-theme/lib/images/ directory? Try using get_stylesheet_directory_uri() or get_bloginfo('template_directory') instead of get_bloginfo( 'stylesheet_directory') .

comment Exclude categories For Custom post types
No, when registering a post type attaching a taxonomy is not required (though recommended according to the CODEX, as it might cause unexpected results with parse_query or pre_get_posts). Either way, 'taxononmies' => array('category' => array(1, 2, 3)) isn't correct. Terms are not set here. You would only need 'taxononmies' => array('category'), and manage the terms elsewhere. I've updated my answer to show how you could also attach the custom taxonomy via register_post_type.

comment Loading a script with a dependency, is unloading another script's dependency
Just curious. Have you attempted to set the priority of your action queueing your scripts either above or below that of WooCommerce when queueing in the footer? I've run into instances with plugins using identical dependencies and it deregistering every instance of it, and for some reason this fixed it. (I didn't give it much thought). Never made a difference between queueing in the header vs. footer though.
