have added wp_enqueue_script('jquery'); to functions.php and replaced $ with jQuery but to no avail. It seems jQuery site wide is now gone.

I have previously tried that. My installation was loading it by default until I installed the plugin in an attempt to circumvent my problem. I have no real qualms reverting though

I want to show the menu like it does on the page preceding it so if I was viewing a Covered Call Report post the menu would show Covered Call | Report ASX Recommendation | Trade History | US Recommendation as if it were a page.

@RickSmith You want to change the background property. It appears to be declared twice, I just copied and pasted the CSS of the body div so I didn't write it. However deleting one of the background: white; lines and replacing the remaining with background: #F5F5F5 !important; should change it the the (I'm guessing) grey colour you're looking for
