I have a wp website.. i love it asit's easy to update. the website is still live and is working fine but i went to use the wp admin lastnight and for some reason it suddenly won't let me access the wp admin, it gives me a http 403 forbidden message and says this website declined to show this wep page.

Please help as i really need to update it.

Hi and welcome to WPSE. What have you tried? Have you installed some plugins lately? In case yes: What happens if you deactivate them via FTP (connect to your server and rename the latest installed plugin folders)? Btw: Recovering from a hack is off-topic, you need to do some research on your own before you ask and the faq is in general a good starting point. Thank you. – kaiser Apr 15 '13 at 8:17
Hi there.. thanks for getting back to me so quick.. I'm new to WP so if I login to my ftp where do i find the latest plugins and what should i rename them to. – Mike Atkinson Apr 15 '13 at 8:20
Mike, as I said: You need to do some research on your own and please make sure that you've fully read the faq before going further. Long comment threads will likely not bring you anywhere aside from a closed question. Hint: It doesn't matter to what you rename them. Just something different so WP can deactivate them. Where to find the latest plugins? In your plugins folder. How to determine what the latest are? Well, you were the one who installed them... – kaiser Apr 15 '13 at 8:25
Please post the exact error message-- copy and paste it. Also, check with your host. There has been a massive brute force attack on WordPress sites. This may be server self-defense. – s_ha_dum Apr 15 '13 at 13:30
