I edited the Image slider file featured.php to retrieve the image files from some local folder instead of media gallery (and/or posts). It works perfectly on local server. But when I upload it to the site it showed up but stopped animating (sliding automatically). However, slides change when the control buttons are clicked. I tried to put back the original featured.php and looked if it works, but it didn't. I went through all the code and related scripts but can't understand the problem. Is it a javascript problem? Any ideas?

(Let me add some details) it comes with a theme called "ElegantEstate". The original file looks like this:

    <!-- Start Featured -->
<div id=featured>

    <?php global $ids;
    $ids = array();
    $arr = array();

    $width = 954;
    $height = 289;
    $width_small = 49;
    $height_small = 49;

    $featured_cat = get_option('elegantestate_feat_cat');
    $featured_num = get_option('elegantestate_featured_num');

    while (have_posts()) : the_post();
        global $post;
        $arr[$i]["title"] = truncate_title(20,false);
        $arr[$i]["fulltitle"] = truncate_title(250,false);

        $arr[$i]["excerpt"] = truncate_post(320,false);

        $arr[$i]["permalink"] = get_permalink();

        $arr[$i]["thumbnail"] = get_thumbnail($width,$height,'',$arr[$i]["fulltitle"],$arr[$i]["fulltitle"],false,'featured_image');
        $arr[$i]["thumb"] = $arr[$i]["thumbnail"]["thumb"];
        $arr[$i]["thumbnail_small"] = get_thumbnail($width_small,$height_small,'',$arr[$i]["fulltitle"],$arr[$i]["fulltitle"]);
        $arr[$i]["thumb_small"] = $arr[$i]["thumbnail_small"]["thumb"];

        $arr[$i]["use_timthumb"] = $arr[$i]["thumbnail"]["use_timthumb"];

        $custom = get_post_custom($post->ID);
        $arr[$i]["price"] = isset($custom["price"][0]) ? $custom["price"][0] : '';

        $ids[]= $post->ID;
    endwhile; wp_reset_query(); ?>

<div id="slides">
        <?php for ($i = 1; $i <= $featured_num; $i++) { ?>
            <?php if ($arr[$i]["title"] == '') break; ?>
            <div class="slide">
                <?php print_thumbnail($arr[$i]["thumb"], $arr[$i]["use_timthumb"], $arr[$i]["fulltitle"] ,$width, $height); ?>
                <div class="overlay"></div>
            </div> <!-- end .slide -->

        <?php }; ?>
    </div> <!-- end #slides -->

    <div id="controllers">
        <a href="#" id="left-arrow"><?php _e('Previous','ElegantEstate');?></a>

        <?php for ($i = 1; $i <= $featured_num; $i++) { ?>
            <?php if ($arr[$i]["title"] == '') break; ?>
            <a href="#" class="smallthumb<?php if ($i==1) echo(' active'); if ($i == $featured_num) echo(' last'); ?>">
                <?php print_thumbnail($arr[$i]["thumb_small"], $arr[$i]["use_timthumb"], $arr[$i]["fulltitle"] ,$width_small,$height_small); ?>
        <?php }; ?>

        <a href="#" id="right-arrow"><?php _e('Next','ElegantEstate');?></a>
        <span id="active-arrow"></span>
    </div> <!-- end #controllers -->
<!-- End Featured -->

And it is included in the theme's home.php file. You can see it at http://www.addiscityservices.com/. The control buttons work but the auto sliding is off. Don't know why.

This isn't part of the core package, so maybe you want to consider adding more details and links to your question. – kaiser Apr 15 '13 at 8:18
Yes kaiser. I added some details on my post to make it clear. Can you look at it again? – Bereket Tesfamichael Apr 15 '13 at 8:44
Sorry, but A) the theme is closed source (commercial theme) and B) this is a Javascript or settings problem. This question is off topic. – kaiser Apr 15 '13 at 9:12
