WordPress Development Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for WordPress developers and administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I'm trying to change the language in a theme, downloaded the theme' default.po/mo, translated it through 'poedit', and uploaded the files again. Furthermore I changed the wp-config so it now incl "define ('WPLANG', 'da_DK');" - but the theme isn't changing.

Therefore I created a test wordpress, installed the theme again, uploaded the same dk_DA.po/mo and kapow! It's working!

Why won't my live site change?

(I've tried to copy/paste .po/mo & the language section from the wp-config, to rule out typos - no luck)

Do you have a caching plugin active? If so, flush it. –  vancoder Apr 12 '13 at 21:26

Are you sure the theme's language files are named properly? ie. ending in -da_DK.mo and -da_DK.po ? –  WPMU-DEV Ari Apr 19 '13 at 16:58
