I wish to crossreference specific tags with my posts in order to create a tag list of certain values. In this particular case, some of the tags are company names, and I want these names output in a separate list. In each post I've included a custom field where I can select one tag.
How would I go about in order to run a match for all tags against all posts? Are there any built in functions for this type of need?

Are the contents of said custom field saved as a tag or as postmeta? –  Johannes Pille Apr 6 '13 at 18:34

They're saved as a tag. I'm using the plugin Advanced Custom Fields to set up this custom field which retrieves all the tags in a select list. –  Staffan Estberg Apr 6 '13 at 23:18
