I am using Inventory Manager Plugin and it is currently working great. The issue I have is that I need to use the same plugin, but I need to install a fresh version of the plugin while maintaining the current running plugin EG so that two duplicate plugins work alongside each.

1st version of the plugin is being used to maintain stock. I would like the 2nd version to monitor hired / off-hired equipment, which I know that it can do.

Can anyone either suggest a way to run both plugins (without creating two sites) or an alternative plugin?

You can rename one of the plugins. But you have to care about database settings and so on if the plugin use it.

It's probably a complex plugin and may require a massive editing (CPT, functions, classes, options) to make it work as another instance. – brasofilo Feb 15 at 23:21
The plugin (WPSC Inventory Manager) have one class, about 300 lines of code and use one option in the database. It could be done by a bit of work. – Ralf912 Feb 16 at 0:35

Is the plugin i found the plugin mentioned in the question? I don't know. My answer left generally for every plugin. If it ends in a massiv editing or not, depends on the plugin and if someone really want to use two identically plugins at the same time. There is no need to add this info to the answer as long as there is no definition of "massive editing" – Ralf912 Feb 16 at 9:12
