While the example you show is actually a Drupal search, doing something similar within Wordpress is possible. See Time Parameters in the Codex for the WPQuery class...

Notepad will work. Suggest you look at codex.wordpress.org/Pages#Creating_Your_Own_Page_Templates – perdrix Feb 3 at 4:12
