I am trying to activate a plugin on my install of WordPress 3.4.2.

It works okay. It says Plugin activated, but below the plugin is not activated.

It does the same for all plugins, including Hello Dolly.

I have done a reinstall from the update page, but the problem still exists.

Any ideas?

deactivate all plugins(if any), switch theme to Twenty Eleven & see if problem persists – Mridul Aggarwal Oct 22 '12 at 11:52
Disable all plugins and switch to TwentyEleven. Does it still happen? – kaiser Oct 22 '12 at 13:50
Thanks Mridul Aggarwal, it seems to have been a problem from the active theme :) – Gabriel Solomon Oct 25 '12 at 12:58
