I have developed more than 20 child themes with Genesis framework. Now I want to try Thesis theme and to my understanding Thesis is not as flexible as Genesis when it comes to child theme development. Genesis allows to use entirely new CSS file in child theme. While in Thesis you are encouraged to use custom.css to customize layout.css. So for my custom PSDs its not a good idea to use Thesis since it always includes its layout.css and Thesis is only useful when you want to customize it itself not ideal for custom PSDs. Am I right?

If you've done 20+ before, this sounds like a good moment to ask yourself: why not do it from scratch this time? It would certainly help you answer your own question. :) – moraleida Aug 30 '12 at 22:40
