i am totally new to wordpress. someone suggested me to use wordpress to make website like this www.thefunnyplanet.com

so i've spent a lot of time to make something like www.thefunnyplanet.com

because. there is landing page. with recent phots. top rated, most viewed .

i want to build my website like this.

when user clicks on any thumbnail.(example. i clicked on the one of recent pictures thumbnail and that is directed to http://www.thefunnyplanet.com/pic/Went-to-the-dark-knight-rises-10076/order/recent)

i want to build my website same www.thefunnyplanet.com

please tell me how i can build using wordpress.

addding . recent pictures. most viewed. top rated. on landing page.

and some other. each thumbnail having text . 20k viewes. rating. etc.

and also signup for other users to signup and upload picture.

please help me .

i've bought a hosting plan. with www.cirtexhosting.com

and now 1 week is over. my site is still. confused.

i am very thankful.

So After i read your question:

i understood, you are interested in creating a website like funnyplanet.

Before you do anything u need to know.

CMS (wordpress,drupal etc)

Wordpress doesnt automatically created when u buy hosting plan.

You need to install it.

To install wordpress or any other Php Cms we can basically do in two ways 1. either download whole source code, create a database for it, the run the files they mentioned. 2. other wise you can do directly from cpanel ( http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_cPanel) or you can open Softaculous or any other auto installer (in cpanel) (One-Click Instant Script Installation in citrex )

After installing it

There will be two sections: Admin Normal site

if you login through Admin section, You can add,edit themes,plugins etc.

but to implement site like funnyplanet you need a photoCMS like Gallery4 or coppermine etc rather than wordpress.

Wordpress is mostly used for blogs but however u can modify it to your needs.

i recommened you to see some videos to how to install wordpress etc

So To Make a site like thefunnyplanet install coppermine or Gallery4. google it you can find more information. coppermine and Gallery4 are similar Cms like wordpress but its mostly for images – user19212 Aug 13 '12 at 21:39
