WordPress Development Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for WordPress developers and administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I receive many queries via a contact form (Contact Form 7) that are similar in nature. I'm planning to implement an FAQ on my site, so visitors can check for information there. Of course, I still want visitors to be able to contact me, but it would be really useful if I could suggest FAQ articles to visitors before they submit a contact form, based on what they have written.

How would I go about implementing something like this for Wordpress 3.x? Could it be done using my existing contact form plugin or must I look at a new approach entirely? I haven't decided on an FAQ plugin yet.

I believe you could achieve everything with the current Contact Form plugin too.

You would probably need to query FAQ data with ajax based on user input, so you will need good scripting knowledge.

I think that's where I might have trouble - unfortunately, my scripting skills are very, very limited. I was hoping there might be an out-of-the-box method of doing this. Thanks for your answer, though! – James Jun 21 '12 at 0:20
