WordPress Answers is a question and answer site for WordPress developers and administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have two separate uses for image display in a current project. The first, on the home page, is a slider, which simply rotates between 5 images, no controls needed. The second is a 'thumbnail strip and click to display large image above' type slideshow.

Can anyone recommend either single plugin that would handle both, or separate plugins? Ideally they would use images that have been 'added' to a page into the Media Library for ease of use by the end user, or if there is an equally simple way of content management that would be fine too.

A lot of people like Slidedeck for easy-of-use for end users. That said, the free version is branded and isn't super customizable. I do think it allows use of the media library though.

thanks, I started writing my own and then realised that nextgen was going to do pretty much everything I needed – Richard Lane Mar 27 '12 at 13:24
