I have created custom media upload meta box using plupload which uploads image directly to amazon s3 bucket along with creating thumbnail. I am able to show images in the post and everything is fine.

What I would like to do is efficiently store a title for the image and description. Since default media library already has this functionality how do I add items manually to it?

I decided against messing up wordpress media library tables, and instead will be creating another table for storing metadata information for uploaded files, so that it is easily manageable.

@Soulseekah's link http://kovshenin.com/2012/dear-wordpress-i-want-to-drop-files-here-in-the-visual-editor/ is a great resource and exactly what I am trying to do along with S3 and cloudfront for delivery.
