first of all my apologise if there is a post with this question answers but I couldn't find it. I'm trying to use the wp_nav_menu() to have two main parents and the related children always visible and then a drop down menu with the third level of submenu, as showed in this scheme.

I think is needed a walker but I don't have a clue how to do it. Could you please help me? Many thanks in advance.

Are you trying to sort them in a certain order or are you using the hierarchy you created in the custom menu? – Jared Jan 24 '12 at 2:15
I'd like to use the hierarchy I created in the custom menu (nav-menus.php) – LdF Jan 24 '12 at 2:19
You could just use CSS and/or jQuery to do this, I think this would be better off in StackOverflow. – Jared Jan 24 '12 at 2:25
Thank you Jared, I'll have a look in that direction then. – LdF Jan 24 '12 at 2:36

you can do this with css, simply make the first 2 ul elements visible (adjust as needed) and then keep the 3rd level (which will be your 3rd nested ul) hidden
