WordPress Development Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for WordPress developers and administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I have looked all over and can't seem to find what I need.

I am looking for a WP plugin that will allow my site users to easily create their own photo galleries, without having to put the photos into a specific blog post first. In other words, they should be able to just create and publish their own photo galleries as desired.

I'd like something very user-friendly, that I can customize with specific instructions, etc.

I've looked at NextGen and have tested that with some users, but they didn't find it to be very intuitive. (Maybe that's on them, but nevertheless...)

Thanks to anyone who can help!

You say you've tried NextGen Gallery, but have you used the add-on NextGen Public Uploader? I installed it on a test server I use for theme development, but I can't say I've actually tested it on a live site with users.

I understand the complaint that NextGen Gallery isn't highly intuitive. For example, it's very easy to miss the fact that one must select a gallery first, before uploading an image. If I'm not mistaken, NextGen doesn't even give an error message if you try to upload an image without selecting a gallery. (It would certainly help if the gallery-selection control were ABOVE the image-selection control!)

That said, NextGen Gallery is, IMHO, a very good plugin for its purposes.

What I'm saying is give NextGen a chance. Once the unintuitive aspects of the interface are understood, I think your users will find it useful and easy.
