I'm looking for a way to read a session set in Wordpress, in Magento. Reading Magento sessions in Wordpress proved to be no problem but the other way around seems nearly impossible.

Here's my situation: I have a user area in Wordpress where people can login. I need to check in Magento if a user is logged in. IMPORTANT: I am not/ will not use Magento's customer model for this.

Even if I retrieve a Magento session in WP and write to this session, I can not retrieve these changes in Magento.

Hope anyone can shed some light on this.

WordPress doesn't use sessions out of the box. Do you mean sessions created by something like WP plugin, or do you mean specific session-like information like logged in state? – Rarst Jun 17 '14 at 15:03
Take a look at this answer regarding PHP sessions. – ialocin Jun 18 '14 at 9:45
