My index page is set to show the latest posts. It have a custom option to display it with a "grid" format and another option to display only one post per row with an excerpt.

I want to set two separate pages to display both content. Like ex: "blog-grid" and "blog-classic". I know that going to Settings > Reading I can set one of them but what about the other?

Also, sure I can create a custom query to display the left content but I wonder if I have another solution.

I hope I understand correctly. You can just set one page as a frontpage. The same goes for a blog page. So to display your pages as you said, you will need to create a custom page template and add those from the add page admin screen – Pieter Goosen Apr 22 '14 at 7:04
