WordPress Development Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for WordPress developers and administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have set up a custom post type called "Portfolio". I have asigned this custom post type 2 taxonomies, "Clients" & "Service".

The portfolio homepage URL is as follows:

www.domain.co.uk/portfolio/

The portfolio single page is as follows:

www.domain.co.uk/portfolio/project-name/

The clients and services though are as follows (client eg):

www.domain.co.uk/client/client-name/

I would like this URL to be as this if possible:

www.domain.co.uk/portfolio/client-name/

When I change the slug for this it completely ruins all my other links. Has anyone any ideas on how to make my custom taxonomy permalinks look like this?

To be fair, i don't even mind if /portfolio/ preceeds the /client/client-name. It just needs to give the impression that it is within the porfolio section. I'll be honest, I really wouldn't have a clue when it comes to rewriting rules & regular expressions etc. –  Duncan Morley Apr 6 '11 at 14:02
