I'm importing a CSV file for Woocommerce Products, a number of products link to the same (already uploaded) image file. They link fine, however in the Media Library I now have multiple versions of the same image being created each with a different Permalink. I know the Permalink has to be saved, but is there a way of having them all saved in the same image file in the Media Library?

How is the image being imported? Can you show a sample of the csv? – brasofilo Oct 6 '13 at 12:58
My guess is that the importer will have to check for the presence of the image before importing, and then attach the image instead of uploading it, or add a meta_key, something. I am not sure how WooCommerce works in this respect. – s_ha_dum Oct 6 '13 at 15:45
Hi brasofilo, Its through the Woocommerce Product Importer plugin, which can import Product Category Hierarchies, the image is linked via a local path to the uploads folder, link – Niall O Laoghaire Oct 6 '13 at 16:14
TBH there's not much chance of changing the CSV file Is there any function I could use to get all the permalinks into the single media library file? Its not creating additional images its just versions within the media library with different permalinks, thks – Niall O Laoghaire Oct 6 '13 at 16:23
