WordPress Development Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for WordPress developers and administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I've changed hosting companies and also got a new domain for my blog. I've pointed the old domain to the new host, and the blog is now totally set up and running on the new host, with the new domain.

At the moment, going to olddomain.com will take me to the new site, but the url won't change in the address bar (it still says olddomain.com) until I click any link, at which point Wordpress kicks in and forces it to use newdomain.com. Ideally olddomain.com would just redirect straight to `newdomain.com.

Is .htaccess the right place to do this? Or is it a higher level hosting thing (like domain forwarding)?
