WordPress Development Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for WordPress developers and administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I'm using wp_nav_menu to display a 4 level menu for a site. If the active item has no children the class current_menu_parent is applied to all parent levels and words fine. If however the active menu item is a parent item itself then the class current_menu_parent is not applied to the parent of the active child.

Any thoughts as to what might be missing?

Here's an example of it not working: http://pastebin.com/kZ138dHN

Here's what happens if I select a child that has no more children: http://pastebin.com/eNg1LwxM
