WordPress Development Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for WordPress developers and administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have implemented CSS disclosure buttons on my site. I have coded custom functions for the RSS so the description is the auto-trimmed excerpt and the post content has the buttons appended to the FRONT (I don't want it at the end of the post). However... Feedly & Bloglovin both autogenerate excerpt for the content from the post. I would like for the custom tags not to show up there!

I was wondering if there was a way to make another field in my RSS that would contain those and still show up in a news reader/my emailed subscription list? Without being in the excerpt.

My other alternative is to cut my entire RSS to excerpts, which I do not want to do!
