WordPress Development Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for WordPress developers and administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I am trying to create my first plugin settings page using the Settings_API but I am not sure what the correct method to use here is. The plugin will parse RSS feeds into posts. The options I want to give the user for now are the URL for the feed and the time period between cron jobs. I am still a beginning with PHP/MySQL and trying to add new tables or update this information using an array within the database is still over my head.

I was hoping it may be possible to simply create and remove scheduled events as needed. It looks like I could then use wp_get_schedule to provide a listing of what has been setup but I am not sure how I would be able to sort that to know which feed each schedule refers to.

I currently have settings page which I am able to save various settings to the database through but this method would require me to register and add a new setting for evey feed.
